Vancouver Queer Film Festival (August 13 – 23, 2020)
The Vancouver Queer Film Festival
Held every August, The Vancouver Queer Film Festival began in 1988 to complement the Gay Games and ever since the festival has celebrated queer lives through the best in independent queer cinema. Today the Queer Film Festival is Vancouver’s second largest film festival and the largest queer arts event in Western Canada.
The Vancouver Queer Film Festival celebrates and advances queer communities through cultural expression. The films celebrate queer lives and experiences of people with diverse identities in our communities including narratives from trans people, queer people of colour, and Indigenous people. The festival showcases work in all genres that confronts stereotypes, pushes boundaries and strives for change, highlighting the tremendous diversity of queer, trans, and two-spirit artists.
Showcasing thought provoking films; The Vancouver Queer Film Festival tells the stories of the journeys we have taken to find ourselves, each other, and our place in the world. It is a must attend event this August.
